AI Developers for Good with Gemma 4
The winners of the Gemma 4 Good Challenge have been announced, a Kaggle competition that asked participants to create AI solutions to address challenges facing people around the world.
Challenge Winners
Developers used key technologies such as LiteRT, Cactus, Ollama, llama.cpp, and Unsloth to create high-performance solutions for conventional hardware.
- First place: GEM-4, a robotic assistant and controller that helps elderly and disabled people with daily tasks.
- Second place: Trido, a digital whiteboard that assists educators, especially those with disabilities, in managing interactive instruction in the classroom.
- Third place: PenguinAgent, a research and data analysis application that supports wildlife ecologists in field expeditions in remote environments.
Special Awards
In addition to the main winners, special awards were given in categories such as Global Resilience, AI Trust and Safety, Digital Equity and Inclusion, Future of Education, and Health Sciences.
- Global Resilience Award: Acuífero·Vigía, a flood early warning system deployed in South America.
- AI Trust and Safety Award: TrueVoice, a project addressing voice cloning fraud.
